Giverny Petitmermet grew up in San Diego, California. She moved across the country to attend Boston University, where she received her BFA in Acting with a minor in Art History. She has studied theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and the British American Dramatics Academy (BADA).
In the summer of 2014, Giverny created, acted, and produced a four person version of Macbeth, called The Witches. This lead to the creation of a theatre company, The New Collectives, with her other cast members and collaborators. She is the Artistic Director/Executive Producer and Lead Teaching Artist for the company's education wing, The Young Collectives. She is also a founding member of BREAD Arts Collective.
Giverny currently lives in New York where, aside from acting, she often makes and sells many a crafty item. Some of the items she has made and her former apartment were featured on the design blog Apartment Therapy.
